When you enter a classroom as a volunteer, you do not enter alone. You come in with the baggage of your history, your learnings, and most importantly, with a genuine desire to share.

Do you love the English language, want to contribute to a social project, but keep asking yourself: “Can I teach even if I've never taught before?”

The answer is simple: yes, you can. And more — you can do it in a light, transformative way with a lot of support along the way.

At Cidadão Pró-Mundo, we believe that the desire to make a difference speaks louder than any diploma. Of course, experience helps. But here, no one expects you to be a ready-made teacher. What we're really looking for are people willing to learn together, walk together, and transform together.

Teaching is also learning

When you step into a classroom as a volunteer, you don't enter alone. You bring the baggage of your story, your learning, and, most importantly, the genuine desire to share.

And that's exactly where the beauty of volunteering lies: yes, you teach. But you also learn — a lot.

Learn to listen, to communicate clearly, to adapt your language, to think of creative ways to explain something seemingly simple. Learn that every student has a rhythm and a reality. And, above all, learn that the impact goes far beyond the content of the class.

And if I freeze? It's okay.

There is no perfect volunteer — there is a committed volunteer.

Here at CPM, we offer training, guides, pedagogical support, and an entire team cheering for you. It's not about memorizing grammar rules or knowing all the verb tenses. It's about creating a safe and welcoming environment where the student can express themselves, practice, and grow.

You will have structured lesson plans, ready materials, and space to share experiences with other volunteers. No one walks alone. In fact, one of our greatest prides is the sense of community that forms among volunteers.

What you really need to start

  • Willingness to contribute your energy and time;

  • Passion for education and social transformation;

  • Intermediate or advanced level of English (you don't have to be fluent!);

  • Curiosity and openness to learn new things;

  • Desire to build something collective and meaningful.

With this, you already have everything you need to take the first step.

And do you know what comes next?

  • That good feeling of knowing you're part of something bigger;

  • Students growing and gaining confidence with your help;

  • Stories that will mark your life;

  • It is a space where you can develop incredible skills that will accompany you forever — like leadership, empathy, teamwork, active listening, and creativity.

So, let’s go?

If you've made it this far, maybe this is the little push you needed to sign up and become part of our network. Cidadão Pró-Mundo has its doors open for you — with support, welcome, and a lot of social impact.

It doesn't matter if you've never set foot in a classroom as a teacher. What matters is that you want to be there. The rest, we build together.
